Gordon Oborne

March 15th, 1939 - March 18th, 2024
Gordon Oborne

Gordon left the world quietly and at peace surrounded by his loving wife, Jennifer, and all four children. Dad was the third son of LeRoy and Edith Oborne. The family farmed in the Bentley/Eckville area and then moved to the Cremona area and ranched west of Water Valley. Dad met and married Jennifer Tuppen, the love of his life. They built their own home and resided in Cremona until present, raising four children. Dad did a variety of jobs – hauling logs, contracting right of ways, clearing and oilfield consulting. He worked all over Alberta and also in the Arctic. Dad loved spending time with family and friends, holidays, camping, hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved the odd drink of rum and sharing a good story (that was mostly true) with family and friends. Gordon, Dad, Gramps will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 58 years, Jennifer, children and their families Christine (Jim) Turner – Kailey, Madison and James (Sam) – Wren; Wes (Stacey) Oborne (Isaac, Eliza); Jillian (Kendon) Dressel (Nicole, Ayla); Russel (Christine) Oborne (Roy, Len); special niece Larissa (Clint) Gellrich (Leland, Bridget, Sawyer) and nephew Jarvis. Also survived by brother Boyd (Edna) Oborne, sister-in-law Myrna Oborne, brother-in-law Jim (Lindy) Tuppen and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents LeRoy and Edith Oborne, brother Allan Oborne, sister-in-law Maria Tuppen and granddaughter Eliza Oborne.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Cremona Congregational Church on Saturday May 4th at 2:00pm. The family is grateful for the wonderful care Dad received over the years from our local health care system.

Whenever I'd see Gordon he would be interested in what was going on, helpful, respectful of others and... always have a story of his adventures in the great outdoors.
We will miss you.
Our thoughts are with Jennifer and family.
