Gregory (Greg) Wandler AKA Scrapper

August 28th, 1964 - October 4th, 2025
Gregory (Greg) Wandler AKA Scrapper

Greg was born August 28, 1964, to Walter & Phyllis (Doll) Wandler, in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. Greg passed away October 4,2025, in Rimbey Alberta.

Greg , as a young boy loved making dust, on the farm where he grew up, in Kerrobert.

In 1988 Greg decided to make Bentley Alberta, his forever home.

Greg is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kaleigh McKean; son, Jayden (Amanda) McKean & his 2 loves, his grandchildren, Olivia & Harper.

Greg is also remembered by his three sisters, Jerine, Sharon (Martin), Sandy; and two brothers, Lorne (Anna) and Tom; nephews, Jace (Amanda), Travis (Sydney);

Nieces, Mel (Ray), Karyn (Dave), Janna (Bri), Steph, Krystin (Brendan); great nieces and nephews, Jude, Abby, Indi, Julian, Dallas, Jaxon, Emmett, Scarlet and a another one on the way.

Greg worked at many different jobs, CP Rail, as a motor man for Tri City and an operator for Hydrodig. After a serious accident, it limited his ability to do different types of work, but he always was willing to try something new and willing to help whoever needed help. He was always thinking of something ingenious, to make things, like magnet fishing stuff!! He often was fixing things & was able to get it done!!

Greg had quick wit and a dry sense of humour, we never knew what his response would be to the conversation around him!

Greg had the ability to make & maintain friends, from the age of 5 until now, he had many, many friends.

Greg had a deep unwavering love for his family and friends, past & present. He will be missed by all who knew & loved him.

The family wishes to thank the awesome staff at Rimbey Hospital, you cared for Greg & his family with kindness & compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, to the Rimbey Hospital Legacy Committee.

Greg surprised me with a message this summer , I wish I could find it . it was a picture of the sign for Rupert Acres - a trailer park in Goulais River or Heyden Ontario! He thought I lived there ,He was thinking of Rupert st in Red Deer .He was driving from Montreal to Bentley with a buddy and the highways were washed out They had to take quite a detour that night but they made it! I was in Red Deer visiting at the time . It was a surprise to hear from him on messenger He always was up to something Love u Greg and I'll see you again on the other side!

Condolences to Greg's family and Friends.
Some of my favorite memories growing up were out at the Wandler farm. Greg was always up to something. "Making Dust". While running along the farm driveway pulling a rake was one of my favorites. I think I might have joined him a few times.
Greg always had great stories and a terrific sense of humour.
He will be missed.
