Harold Bell

Harold Bell passed away peacefully at Mountain View Hospice on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the age of ninety-five years. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bell, on September 04, 2013. Born in Radisson, Saskatchewan to the late Jean and Robert Bell in 1930. He is survived by younger brother, David (Linda); and predeceased by older sister, Elsie (Keith). Harold met Dorothy while attending Olds High School and were married in 1950 which brought a wonderful legacy of four children, Jack (Susan), Jim (Linda), Nancy and Jeffrey (Margaret); as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Harold and Dorothy lived in numerous rural communities such as Olds, Reed Ranch, Garfield, Eagle Hill and Sundre each with a view of the mountains. Harold and Dorothy enjoyed the life of a farmer but always found time to support their children in various sporting activities. Later in life he fell in love with trail rides among the foothills, sleeping under the stars next to a camp stove. For many years they traveled the rodeo circuit (Ponoka and Strathmore) with a fondness for the chuckwagons.

Harold loved the warmth of a wood-burning stove and continued to heat the residence up until his passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August, 28, 2026 at Hainstock Community Hall, 2338 Township Road 332, Olds, AB, beginning at 1:00pm with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by supporting the Mountain View Hospice.
