Harold (Dick) Argatoff

March 16th, 1951 - December 11th, 2025
Harold (Dick) Argatoff

Dick died suddenly in the early morning of Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 74.

He is survived by and will always be loved by his wife, Pat. In October they celebrated 37 happy years together. Dick will be remembered by his siblings, George, Philip (Pat), Nina and Patti (Kelvin). He was predeceased by siblings Molly, Gerry and Marvin.

Dick spent his early years in the West Kootneys. He came to live in Calgary in 1966 where he completed his education.

He loved to return to Kootney Lake where he enjoyed boating and fishing. He had a curious nature, and he and Pat travelled to much of the world. He especially enjoyed seeing the Pyramids of Egypt, sunny beaches and snorkelling in the warm waters of the Caribbean.

Dick was an entrepreneur and built his own software development company which he ran until he retired in 2012.

He was a man of many talents, enjoyed working on cars and fixing whatever needed attention. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. There was no job he wouldn’t tackle. As such he was adept at anything mechanical and really enjoyed his trips to Princess Auto.

Dick had an amazing sense of humour and could make anyone laugh with his quick wit.

During the past several years he and Pat welcomed rescue horses to their pasture for the summer. He loved them and took every opportunity to tell anyone who would listen all about them.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Dick’s name to Bear Valley Rescue, www.bearvalleyab.org which was close to his heart.

A Celebration for Dick will be held at a later date.
