In Memory
Harold Swanson
It is with great sadness
that the family of Harold Swanson announce his passing on Tuesday, January 30,
2024, at the age of 63. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Irene
Swanson; and his sister, Kathy Turner; as well as many friends and family. He
was predeceased by his father, William.
Harold was born in Calgary
to Irene and William Swanson on May 9, 1960. They family later moved to Red
Deer, where Harold has resided since. After finishing school, Harold became a
well tester in the oil field, where he worked until he was forced to retire due
to health issues. Harold was a good friend to many and enjoyed spending time
sitting around a campfire or down at the tavern, having a beer with his
buddies. He was a big fan of the Calgary Flames and Stampeders. He loved to rib
his sister Kathy (who is an Edmonton fan) any chance he could get.
Harold’s family would like
to thank the staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, as well as his
caregivers.
A Weiner Roast to celebrate
Harold’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold’s name may be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, 28 Oki Drive NW, Calgary, AB T3B 6A8.
