Harry Svingen
November 10th, 1944 - November 14th, 2025
Born in Mankota, Saskatchewan
Passed in Calgary , Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harry Svingen on November 14, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. Harry was born on November 10, 1944, in Mankota, Saskatchewan. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Harry's journey began in Saskatchewan, but it was in Alberta where he truly made his mark. He met his wife, Betty, in 1970 and together they raised their family in Airdrie. Harry was a hardworking and dedicated tradesman who founded Heritage Refrigeration/Heating and Air Conditioning in 1983. Over the next 40 years, he built a reputation for his honesty, work ethic, and valued opinions.
Outside of work, Harry had a passion for racing his '28 Essex on quarter mile tracks across Alberta and BC. He was a member of the Wild Rose Rod and Custom Club, where he made many cherished friendships. Harry also enjoyed photography, music, and electronics, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In his later years, Harry became more involved in the Airdrie Legion, forming even more meaningful connections. Despite facing health challenges, he remained hopeful and determined, always looking forward to the next adventure.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Svingen, his children Dave Svingen (Heather Irvine) and Tracy Graf, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and many friends. He was predeceased by his son, Darren, and his parents, Marg and Albert.
A celebration of Harry's life will be held in the Spring or Summer of 2026, at a location and date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Airdrie Legion in his memory. Harry's legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Harry Svingen.
