Helene Joyce Page (nee Smith)

Helene passed away peacefully, her daughters by her side, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the age of 85, in Airdrie, AB at the Bethany Long Term Care Home.

She was born in Harris, SK to Ellen and Roy Smith, the youngest of 5 daughters. Throughout her life she always had great pride at being from the prairies and her favourite flower was the tiger lily.

She lived in different places in BC with her dear husband, Bob, over the years; finally settling in Forestburg, AB where they lived happily for 16 years.

She especially found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could sew, knit, crochet and always had projects on the go. She loved to walk and always kept in shape. Bob and her spent many fun times boating on the Shuswap and camping in their fifth wheel. They were both animal lovers and always had well loved pets.

Helene’s faith was important to her and she was involved with the United Church with knitting groups, catering, rummage sales, etc. She cherished all the people she met there.

Helene was predeceased by her husband Bob. She leaves behind her children, Kim Sparks, April MacMurchy and Ron Sparks; her grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Davis, Loughlan MacMurchy, Justice Sparks and was predeceased by Roman Sparks; and great-grandchildren, Declan (Laura Green) MacMurchy, Bowen Davis, Theo Davis, Logan Davis and Lincoln Sparks.

Helene will be lovingly missed by many. Her ashes will be scattered in the scattering garden in Forestburg public cemetery alongside her husband Bob as per her wishes.
