Hilda Murdoch

Hilda Murdoch passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the age of 88. Born in Virden, MB. She became an accomplished bookkeeper for better than 50-years, living in several small towns across Western Canada, eventually settling in her favorite place of Langley, BC. Along the way, she raised two children (Jannine and Ward) instilling in them a hard-work ethic and kindness to others. She loved all animals, to laugh, good food, music (especially that of Andrea Bocelli), movies, flowers (particularly poppies) and would dead-head for hours on end. Simply put, she loved life. She loved car rides and really enjoyed going out for coffee, "tiny" Nanaimo bars, and ice cream, always claiming "I have to get away from these four walls!" Hilda was a sweet, loving woman who will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

 As per her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. The family wishes to thank the Nursing Teams from Units 42, 43 & 51 at the Peter Lougheed Centre for their loving care; the Spiritual Team (Kathryn) and Palliative Care Team (Joanne) for their guidance and support at a most difficult time. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the thoughtful expressions of love and kindness by relatives and friends during their time of loss and bereavement.
