Inge Hansen

Inge Lise Hansen (nee Luft) passed away peacefully in Red Deer, AB, Canada, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the age of 70, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and heart failure. She went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by loved ones. Inge Lise is predeceased by her loving parents, Jens and Elise Hansen; her older brother, Jens Otto Hansen. She is lovingly remembered by her older brother, Laurits Hansen; older sister, Mie Anderson; children, Christine Luft, Lise (Tony) Kurp, and Robert Luft; her beloved grandchildren, Sophia (Robert), Oliver and Linken (Tony and Lise). She also leaves behind many incredible close family members and friends from all over the world, dominantly Canada and Denmark. She was a feisty and fierce woman. She will be immensely missed. Her strength in the face of challenges was an incredible testimony to her love and faith. The family thanks all of those who have shared their well wishes, condolences, love and outreach over the last few days. 

A Graveside Service will be held in her honour at Didsbury Cemetery 1101-18 Street, Didsbury, AB on Monday June 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM. 

Friends and family members are invited to attend. Attendees are reminded to dress for the weather as this will be an outdoor service at her gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Inge’s Memory made be made to their local food bank. 

Inge Lise was an avid and skilled cook who always made enough for anyone who needed it and would be honoured to feed others with your gift.

"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died."
