In Memory
Ingvald (Lorne) Lorence Levorson

With much sadness, we announce the passing of Lorne in the
morning of Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 90. Lorne is lovingly
remembered by his sons, Mark and Greg (Alison); and grandchildren, Matt and
Emma and Meredith; his twin sister, Ingrid Levorson and brother, John Levorson.
Lorne was predeceased by his loving wife, Myrna, 7 years ago, his loving
daughter, Darcey, 11 years ago, his sister, Elsie (John) Mitchell and
sister-in-law, Elaine (John) Levorson.
He was a hard-working and social guy who enjoyed
outdoor sports of all kinds and instilled this into his children. Lorne's
pride of family achievements was always part of his character and story-telling
and he provided his family and friends with a lot of laughs whether
intentionally or not.
Throughout his life and especially after
retirement, Lorne's favourite place to be was his summer home on Kalamalka
Lake, a location he considered to be the most beautiful on earth. Lorne
enjoyed sharing his lake home with family and friends of all ages and where he
often hosted spirited debates of the "Heavy Thinkers".
Lorne loved his pets and neighbor's pets that
would visit him at his lake house. He enjoyed making concoctions, jams and
mysterious treats from the fruits of his orchard. His frugality was legendary and he always
enjoyed a hearty dinner of meat and potatoes.
He was a real trooper in the last independent
years of his life.
Mark and Greg invite everyone who knew Lorne to
attend and share his Celebration of Life at the Varsity Community Association
Hall, 4303 Varsity Drive NW, Calgary, AB on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Laura Day nee Levorson
We shared many lovely family memories together in Calgary and at Kalamalka Lake, Lorne’s happy place. The whole Levorson family were great slalom water skiers in the day. One year Lorne fell on his ski in the middle of the lake and cracked some ribs. I believe he was in his 60s at the time!
We took turns cooking at the lake house. And Lorne and Mark joined us in Calgary for many holiday meals. Lorne loved to contribute wild game such as geese and his famous freshly baked Lefse (Norwegian Potato Flatbread). And you could always count on Lorne to bring a great bottle of red wine.
Our deepest condolences to the family.
I’m looking forward to seeing Lorne, Myrna and Darcey in heaven. Bless them and all our families.
