In Memory
Jack Reed
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Reed on Tuesday December 13, 2022 at the age of 84 after a valiant fight against Cancer and Lupus and finally succumbing to Pneumonia. He was the strongest person all of us knew. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Millie, his two children Dean (Sandy), and Lynn (Ron). Jack is also survived by his grandsons Graham (Roxy), Kyle (Lisa), TJ (Lise) and his granddaughters Ginny (Jeff) and Amee (Rod) and his twelve great grandkids.
Jack joined the PPCLI in 1959. A truer soldier had never been born. He made many lifelong friends and trained many more over the years. He was very well respected by all. Jack retired after serving for 25 years. He went on to work with the Calgary School Board for addition 17 years.
Jack loved nothing more than going fishing and hunting with the Moose Mafia and his buddies. Camping, carving and puttering were his pastimes. He could work circles around most of us when trying to get projects done on the property. Jack will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Thank you to all of Jack’s family and friends for the support that they have provided though the last five years. A very special thanks to the nurses and doctors involved in Jack’s care, the genuine quality and support of his care were appreciated by Millie more than any of you will ever know.
In lieu of flowers, Millie requests that donations be made to the Red
Deer Regional Hospital Centre 3942 50A Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 4E7.
