Jacqueline Rose Marie aka "Bijou" Hudon

February 25th, 1946 - September 5th, 2025
Jacqueline Rose Marie aka "Bijou" Hudon

After 79 years of knowing life, love, sadness, joy, and finally acceptance, Jackie has found her rest.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Chris; and daughter, Sherry. Being able to spend time with her grandkids, Xavier (Chris and Keri) and Tiara (Sherry and Derek) was her mission. Watching her grandchildren grow up gave her incredible joy.

Jackie was lovingly known as Bijou by her close-knit family. She was born to Aime and Mattie Hudon in St Lazare, Manitoba. She had 8 siblings, and held very special memories of the 4 (Noel, Art, Frank, Louise) who passed before her. Her surviving siblings (Bert, Aime, Brian, Betty) were extremely important to her. After a phone call or visit from one of them she would light up for weeks.

Jackie was very interested in people, and in helping people. She had a long history of opening her home to youth in need; she created loving and supportive space in her home for teens undergoing struggles of various sorts. These relationships were so important to her. She was so proud of all of her kids, not just her children. She maintained relationships with as many as she could.

Her generosity was legendary. She would give you the coat off her back in the middle of a blizzard. She delighted in cooking for her loved ones and she was a pretty awesome cook! She always had time for anyone who needed her.

Jackie spent her last years at Wentworth Manor. The staff were so helpful and important to her. The family sends gratitude to the entire team but especially Dr Adina, Michelle, Lyndsay, and Laurie.

Jackie didn't want a "funeral". She only wanted her loved ones to come together for a meal and happy stories, like so many great gatherings she had with her family over the years. Bring your best memories and happy tears.

Calgary gathering will happen on Wednesday Sept 17. Please reach out to Sherry for details. McAuley gathering is tentatively Saturday October 11 at the rink.
