James (Jim) Arthur Dowie

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Jim Dowie on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Jim was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 13, 1934. He moved to Calgary in 1960 where he raised his family.

Jim was a hardworking guy and was kind and loyal to those who knew him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jim is remembered by his loving wife of 28 years, Marie Dowie (Lindstrom); his children, Steve Dowie, Keith Dowie, Debbie Matus (Cody) and Dawn Wutzke. He is also remembered by his stepchildren, Denise Nelson (Bill), Barbara Nelligan (Dennis), Susanne Evans (Barclay), Darlene Belland (Rick) and Gary Belland (Lori). He is also survived by his sister Margo Walker, his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Dowie, and his parents, Stanley and Mary Dowie.

At Jim’s request, there will be a private Celebration of Life for those closest to him.
