Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and he moved away from home at the age of 18 and took a job at CP Rail in Calgary. He attended SAIT and received an Architectural Draftsmen degree then had various mechanical/electrical jobs in the engineering field throughout the years. As one of his projects, he helped design the polar bear exhibit at the Calgary Zoo.
He attended First Baptist Church and was involved in Young People’s Group, where he met Gerry. Bev was involved with First Baptist Church for more than 70 years singing in the choir, involved in the group “Mafia” and “Camera Club”, tellering, involved with the property management and later singing in a men’s choir called “Good News Singers“.
He was very athletic and his favorite sport was badminton. He enjoyed old cars and war museums. He was meticulous and a perfectionist when it came to fixing, maintaining or making things. He took pride in his house and yard.
Bev cherished and loved to spend time with family, especially his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in all of them. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a very kind soul, a gentle man and had a great sense of humor. He also truly cherished his many friends as well. He enjoyed travelling with family and friends on many fun beach trips or cruises. He will be sorely missed.
We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the staff at Auburn Retirement Residence and to Dr. Grace Wang. All did an outstanding job taking care of Bev’s needs with nothing but love and compassion.
A Memorial Service will be held at BONAVISTA BAPTIST CHURCH, 1507 Acadia Dr. SE, Calgary on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
