Jean Patricia Fisher

Jean Patricia Fisher passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2024, at her residence at AgeCare Seton in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 80 years old.

Jean was born on September 6, 1943, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late William A. and Gladys (Spooner) Chisholm. She was predeceased by siblings John, Wilfred, Alexander, Cecilia, Nancy, Veronica, Margaret, and is survived by her sister Evelyn.

Jean moved from Nova Scotia to North Bay, Ontario where she started a family with William Fisher, raising seven children while working at the bank as a customer service representative. She moved her family from North Bay to Alberta in 1983, making Calgary her permanent home since 1984.

In between working and raising her family, Jean made time for activities she enjoyed, including reading, bowling, singing in the church choir, and going out to a nice restaurant for a meal. She loved listening to music, filled her home with plants, and loved animals, providing a home to several dogs and cats over the years.

Family was the most important thing in Jean’s life, and there was nothing she loved more than having the whole family together sharing a big potluck dinner. She was quick with a witty comeback and will be remembered fondly for her cooking and baking, especially her baked beans, pies, breads and homemade biscuits.

She is survived by William Fisher and will be greatly missed by her children Suzzanne (Charles), Robert, Keith (Angela), Cheryl (Sab), Joanne (Kevin), Rosalyn (Jimmy), and Janet; and her grandchildren Julian, Alexandra, Sarah, Isabella, Samantha, Jack, Claire, Craig, Ella, Avery and Olivia; step-grandson Mat, step-greatgrandchild Autumn, numerous nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Bea Crance.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at AgeCare Seton, and Dr. Matthew Henschke, for providing care and comfort to Jean during the time she resided there, and for bringing her the daily cups of tea that she enjoyed so much.

The family will be celebrating the life of Jean Patricia Fisher at a private gathering.
