We are saddened to announce the passing of Jeanine Yoko Terakita (Mura), on September 18, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta from a battle with cancer just prior to her 93rd birthday. She was born in Vancouver, BC. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Barry Terakita; daughter, Lisa Poland (Danny); 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Kane and Mya; and her sister, Betty Mura; sisters-in-law, Kay Ikeda, June Terakita and Marie Mura; brother-in-law, Jim Tateishi; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Yosh Terakita; daughter, Shelley; sister, Nancy and brothers, Tom, Henry and Ken Mura.

Jeanine was active in line dancing, aquasizing, Odori ( Japanese dancing ), Kotobuki (Japanese Seniors Club), gardening, baking, and Jehovah’s Witness meetings and ministries. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with her many friends and family.

Family is accepting condolences at the Calgary Nikkei Cultural and Seniors Centre, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 12:00 -3:00 pm.

Condolences to Jean family. Jean was a wonderful person who cared so for her family and friends. Agnes Gustafson will miss there phone calls of in the last years. They always said they were some of last of friends that were still around. The enjoyed their talks of the old days and people they both new. Jean will be missed by all. Agnes Gustafson and Gustafson family.
