In Memory
Jeraldine Williams

Jeraldine “Jerry” Fern Williams passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 78, in Calgary, Alberta, after being unwell for some time. Jerry was born to Jack & Win Williams on September 3, 1947 in Castor, AB. She was one of six children raised on the family farm, near Brownfield, AB.
She received her education in Bulwark, Brownfield & Coronation schools. After working in Coronation for a time she then ventured to Calgary. Calgary was a start of various jobs working in a lumber yard, bars as a bouncer and server then finally settling with buying her own Courier company, which she operated on her own for 35 years. During this time, she met many lifelong friends.
It was in Calgary that Jerry met her life partner Grace “Ginger” George. They both enjoyed hosting lively get togethers with friends, all you had to do was follow the sounds of Neil Diamond. During July you could also find Jerry & Ginger at the Calgary Stampede, enjoying the midway games, others were hard pressed to beat them. On weekends they both enjoyed time trying their luck at the Casinos. They also loved to travel together & especially loved the mountains, Barrier Lake was a special place to them.
Jerry was quiet but also comforting & had a great sense of humour. When you met Jerry, you were no longer a stranger but a close friend. While within the AA family she made many friends, found support and became a sponsor for others. Jerry was a quiet encourager & always reached out to make new comers feel welcome and at ease. Jerry loved gifting her special butterfly medallions to those that touched her heart. She always told us that her AA group was a second family. It was a great honour that Jerry received her 15-year pin in September 2025. She worked hard at maintaining her sobriety and was honest about her struggles, never hiding her own truth.
You could also find Jerry with a good book or a Word Search puzzle. She took up knitting to dumbfounded minds, she loved creating her special dish cloths and gifting them to friends. Her knitting creations for her family were a hot commodity and set a bidding frenzy year after year at our family reunion auctions. Jerry stood out among the crowd with her much loved wolf t-shirts. She had multiple animals over the years but her favorites were cats & dogs.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Lewis (Edie) Williams along with their children LaRoy (Vangie), Jim (Nico) & Charmaine; her sisters, Bunny Williams and Nola Alderdice and Nola’s children, BJ & Kelsey.
She will also be remembered by her late sister Lila’s children LeeAnne & Colin Carey
She also loved her numerous great nieces & nephews along with all of their children and many, many friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Cy in 1970; her father, Jack in 1988; her mother, Win in 2001; her life partner Ginger, in 2003; and her sister, Lila in 2018.
A gathering to honor Jerry will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the Doctor and Care Team at St Teresa Place in Calgary. Their kindness to Jerry and us was above and beyond.
For those wishing to donate in Jerry’s memory we ask that you send any donations to Tails To Tell Animal Rescue or an animal shelter of your choice.
