Jim was born in the Shady
Nook district west of Red Deer, where he spent the majority of his life
enjoying family and work on farm. In the few years he wasn’t in the district,
Jim completed his trade, and met the love of his life and wife of 54 years,
Linda. When he wasn’t on his tractor seeding or harvesting, Jim was a skilled
journeyman tinsmith during the week, and enjoyed selling bedding plants and
vegetables in the summer at local farmers markets. For nearly 40 years, Jim
found great joy in barbershop singing, sporting his trademark handlebar
moustache, and using his gift to entertain others. In his retirement, Jim
enjoyed memorable trips to the Maritimes and Hawaii, travel through Alberta and
B.C., tending to the garden and yard, having coffee with friends, and spending
evenings in his recliner with a cat on his lap. He took great pride in, and
treasured time with his family, who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held
on Saturday, October 28th at Shady Nook Hall, Red Deer County at 1:00PM, followed
by afternoon tea. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Canada at 5913 50 Ave #202, Red Deer, AB T4N 4C4
