In Memory

Joanne Gunoff (nee Roberge)

November 9th, 1959 - October 15th, 2025
Joanne Gunoff (nee Roberge)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Joanne on Wednesday. October 15, 2025. Joanne passed away at Foothills Hospital.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, sons, Wade & Cody (Crissinda); daughter, Courtney; her grandson that was her whole world, Mason; her adopted granddaughter who she loved like her own, Maddie; her siblings, Edward, Irene, Donna, Adele, Greg (Kandi), Alphonse (Penny) and Leroy (Carrie-Anne) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Leon Roberge in 2012, Agnes Roberge in 2025; and her sister, Denise in 2025.

Joanne will always be known as a spirited, caring and empathetic soul who always welcomed her home to anyone in need. She is someone who continuously provided a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. Despite working full time at Telus Communications while raising 3 children; Joanne always made time to support those around her. She would never hesitate to help anyone in need, even at the expense of her own well-being or finances. She lived a life of faith and was always remembered for her kindness and advocacy towards others. She believed in the power of God, which gave her great strength during many un-precedented times. She is known for her strength, resilience, and sense of humour. She chose to always see the best in everyone and placed herself in their shoes. When faced with adversity; she would always have hope & faith in God. In the darkest hours, she would find light. She was always the life of the party. She loved hating on TRUMP and was always ready for a political argument if you wanted one, especially with her sister, Denise who was a TRUMP supporter In the later years, Joanne cherished her time the most with her grandson Mason. Her greatest memories are those spent with her grandchildren, children, and the times she was able to travel. It is a great honour and privilege to be raised by such a loving Mother. Her kindness, laughter and humour will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She lived with love and left with peace. Forever in our hearts, Jo Jo.

We would like to send special thanks to Unit 37, for all their help, kindness and care during this time. Wade and Cody would like to thank Courtney for giving mom a summer to remember.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street S., Airdrie, AB on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 @ 1:30 PM.

Please remember to tell your mom or mother figure you love her.

I have known Joanne for 43 years. We met when we were both young mothers with two children each very close in ages. We shared everything about our lives, about raising your children, each supporting the other through separation, and then divorce. She has been that constant person in my life always ready to listen and never judging. I have seen her be this way with everyone, friends, and strangers. Losing Joanne it’s like losing a part of my heart. I have so many fond memories of her, always there beside me or just a phone call away through the good, the bad, the in between, and the incredibly joyous. I will miss her deeply, and probably for a long time inevitably there comes that time when the sadness is gone and a thought of her brings only a happy smile. Rest in peace my dear friend. Thank you for sharing your incredible.comet of a ride of life with me. 😔❤️

My heart is heavy hearing about the loss of such a special woman. For years, as a single mom living beside her, she was always there for us thoughtful, strong, and full of love. She’d surprise us with matching hoodies me and my daughter, and her and her grandson Mason with my son Hudson. She gave me advice that has stayed with me ever since, and I truly admired her strength and the deep love she had for her family. My kids adored her too she made them feel seen, loved, and part of something special. We’ll always remember her with love and gratitude. 💔
