In Memory
John Eric Chapman

John Eric went home to be
with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the age of 94. He will be lovingly
remembered by his three sons, Doug Chapman and his wife Peggy, David Chapman
and Stephen Chapman and his wife Erica; his daughter, Beverley Louise
McLaughlin and her husband Thomas McLaughlin. He was predeceased by his loving
wife, Alma Chapman.
Dad enjoyed watching Golf,
playing Crib and dabbling in the Market buying and selling stocks after a
career of working in Management at Montreal Trust. In his younger years he
played golf, curling and bowling. Later in life he dabbled in painting and studying
mushrooms.
Dad was honored to have 11
Grandchildren, Doug’s children, Beverley Ann and John; Beverley’s children,
Angelique, Chanel, Darren and Chris; David’s children, Lacey, Jaimie and Eric;
Stephen’s children, David and Chris.
He was also blessed to have
18 Great-Grandchildren, Beverley Ann’s children, Chanel and Rowan; John’s
children, Lucus and Jessie; Angelique’s children, Angus and Audrey
(predeceased); Chanel’s children, Atticus and Adrian; Darren’s children, Adam
and Jake; Chris’ children, Cassie and Everett; Lacey’s children, Elias and
Elsie; Jaimie’s children, Amelia and Alex; and Chris’ children, Kohen and
Mason.
Dad had the great privilege
of being a Great-Great-Grandfather to Adam’s daughter, Isabelle.
Dad was the last living
member of his immediate family of birth but was much admired by many living
nieces and nephews, Albert Kitchen and wife Joan, Meta MacLean, Audrey Kitchen,
Ronald Kitchen, Louise Chapman, Linda Chapman, Bill Chapman, Nancy Chapman and
Sandra Chapman and their families.
He also leaves behind much
loved in-laws, Erma, Charles, Betty, Anne, Charles and Shirley and their
families.
I hope I haven’t forgotten
any of family members. I know Dad had many living friends that are a lot like
family. You know who you are! Thank you for being in Dad’s life.
We appreciated Home Care
for two years and grateful to Foothills Hospital for caring for Dad before he
was placed in Bow View Manor. Thank you to all at Bow View Manor who looked
after Dad for the last 6 months and thanks to the Emergency staff and Unit 72
at Rockyview for caring for Dad in his last few days here.
We are at Peace knowing
that Dad is at peace in Heaven with his loving wife Alma.

You know how much I loved your Dad and I’m so thankful that he’s gone to heaven so that I can see him again.
I only have good memories of him of when me and my kids would visit your mom and dad in Dollard Des Ormeaux and they treated us like we were part of your family always… Playing cards ….having dinner ….playing in the snow in the backyard …letting me stay overnight when I needed a safe place to be.
They haven’t been there for quite a while so I have truly missed them both because they were more like a mom and dad to me than anybody in my life.
I am comforted by the thought that I will see both your mom and dad in heaven when I get there as I’m sure that you are comforted by that as well.
My love to you and Tom and all your family.🙏🏻❤️
