It is with deep sadness, we regret the passing of Fred Lamont on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at the age of 87. He is lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley, and family. Fred was born in Cavendish, PEI and moved to Calgary at a young age. Having a love for airplanes and travel, he started his career at Air Canada in 1956. Fred started his own business, Lamont Bit Services in 1976. Fred had a love for harness racing, and had owned numerous horses over his lifetime.

A Celebration of Life will be held at later date for Calgary and PEI. Fred’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at McKenzie Towne and Cambridge Manor for their kind and compassionate care.

Shirley and family, sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was always so kind to me at Air Canada and later on in PEI.

I have many warm and wonderful memories of Fred. He was funny and made me laugh often. He was a wonderful guy. He was my father in law for a short time. I will always remember him fondly. Was very sad to hear of his passing. My sincere deepest condolences to the whole family. To each and everyone I send my heart felt sympathy. He will always be remembered.

With deepest sympathy as you remember Fred. I have wonderful memories as he was my mother -Jean MacLeods, first cousin. She was an only child, so her cousins were like siblings, and very special to her. Distance never kept Fred far away. Hugs to Shirley! He will be missed.

Simply put, Fred was one of the nicest human beings that I ever met. I hope they didn't throw away the mold because we need more just like him. RIP, dear friend.
