Joyce Tarnowski

Our beloved Mother, Joyce May Tarnowski (née Downer-Moss), passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the golden age of 101 and 3/4.

Joyce was born in Montreal on May 23, 1924. She proudly served as a Wren in World War II and then relocated to Calgary where she remained until her passing.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kevin (Sandy) Moss, Sharon (Orest) Humeniuk, Mark (Erin) Moss and Maureen (Steve) Cherak; as well as numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

We all have fond memories of our wee Mom dressing up, with her hair done, jewelry on, going out for a nice meal with family and enjoying one of her favorite drinks, a good Scotch or Martini.

A private family Gravesite Service will be held in the Spring.
