In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Judy Lelek on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Calgary. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who touched the lives of everyone she knew with her warmth and kindness.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Mike, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She leaves behind her four cherished children, Gord, Angela (Jeff), Michelle (Travis), and Steve (Kari). Judy's legacy continues through her six grandchildren, Dakota, Tyrel, Teslin, Aurora, Sienna, and Chael.

Those who knew Judy will remember her deep love for her family. She was always enthusiastic about planning the next family gathering and ensuring that no occasion went uncelebrated, often with one of her famous chocolate cakes. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, not only flourishing under her tender care but also serving as a means to support the animal shelter she was deeply passionate about. Her remarkable green thumb and love for baking made every visit to her home a sweet and memorable experience.

Judy's door was always open, and her generosity knew no bounds. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Judy's memory may make a donation to the Claresholm Animal Rescue Society (CARES), reflecting her enduring commitment to helping animals in need.

Judy Lelek will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of crossing her path.

I am still shocked by Judy’s passing. I’ve been doing her nails since the beginning of time!! 😆 And in all those years we solved many world wide problems, shared our love of plants, gardening, animals & most importantly our love of family. She was a joy to spend time with every month. Her name in my appointment book always brightened my day. My deepest condolences to her family & friends. May the Lord bless you with understanding and healing during this difficult time.

Jack and Merry were shocked and surprised to hear of Judy passing away. We have many years of memories as close neighbors. Raising our children together who rode the same School Bus for years. We have enjoyed more than 30 years of calf branding, sharing the work and social life. We will really miss Judy and concerned for Mike and the rest of the family
