Kae Jean Davison
Kae Jean Davison (Reboul) nee Thomas
Kae Jean Thomas, 89, passed away after a steadfast struggle against a host of ailments on November 28, 2024, at her residence at the Fanning Centre in Calgary.
Kae was born on Sept. 14, 1935 in her parents’ farmhouse near Acme, Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents Lorene and Bob Thomas and her younger sister Elizabeth (Beth) Mary Thomas. After graduating from high school in Acme, Kae attended business college in Calgary before eventually settling on the family farm with her beloved husband John Leon Reboul, where they farmed with her parents until they retired. Kae and John resumed in a farm partnership with Brad and Cathy. After John's death Kae maintained a very active interest in the family farm up to her death. Being a farmer was something Kae was very proud of and her garden was legendary. She quite literally lived for her family; children Bradley (Cathy) Reboul (Jamie/Jon Berlie) (Sarah/Chris Robidoux) ch-Rowan and Ethan (Bradie/Brandy Reboul) ch-Brandyn and Bayleigh. Lea (Doug) Veronelly (Christopher Veronelly) (Tyler/Kelly Veronelly) ch Kane and Nate (Robert Veronelly). Carol Ann Gundlock - Jim Walsh (Ryan Gundlock) (Rick/Kayla Gundlock) ch Lauren and Sadie. John (Michele) Reboul with special mention of grandchild Casey Lyndon. An exceedingly devoted mother and wife, there was no detail too small, or task too difficult for her to give her undivided attention to. As a hard-working farm wife, she was an excellent cook and baker and every friend and relative who ever visited went away well sated. Kae enjoyed many of her retirement years wintering in Arizona and Victoria, first with husband John, to whom she was married from 1955 until his death in 1992, and then with her dearest husband Tom Davison.
Kae was fortunate enough to have two families in her life; after her marriage to Tom in 1995, Colleen (Pat), Brian (Tammy), Patsy, Terry (Darren), Christine (Richard) and Ronnie (Judy) and their children and grandchildren would get to know and appreciate her as the generous and loving person she was. She had many happy years with Tom at their house on Island Lake, spending countless hours on their pontoon boat, enjoying the birdlife. Eventually, they settled in St. Albert, and spent many years close to the Davison clan, before Tom’s passing in 2016. She then moved to Calgary, to be with the Reboul side of the family in her final years. She was grateful for an accumulated wealth of wonderful friends throughout her life including longtime girlfriends Audrey McKay, Isabel Correy, Patricia "Joan" Nolan and Jackie Wilson. Kae was delighted to be the matriarch of a very large family, and her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great grandchildren were one of her greatest joys in life. There was hardly a birthday, graduation or other special event that ever went by without her marking the occasion, and with as many of them as there were, that was no small undertaking Kae was a good soul, and will be missed greatly by all of us.
The family would like to extend its appreciation to the excellent staff members such as Sunni, Frankie, and Jenny from Skypointe AgeCare and the Fanning Centre who took good care of Kae in her final years.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date TBD.
