renewing and deepening their faith together. Her unwavering dedication to God
and her family provided a strong foundation for those she loved. Kathy had a
passion for the outdoors, often traveling to the mountains and spending time
camping with her loved ones. Her presence was a source of joy, laughter, and
smiles. Her legacy of love, kindness, faith in God, and devotion will forever
be remembered and treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of
knowing her.
The family extends their gratitude to the Airdrie Palliative Care Team and the Concierge Care Team for their compassionate support, allowing Kathy to spend her final days at home with her husband, daughter, close family and friends. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed money, time, food, treats, and flowers during this challenging time. Your support and kindness have provided immense comfort and strength. It is the peace of God and the unwavering support of family and friends that helped them through this period of loss and will continue to be a source of strength as they navigate the grief of losing their beloved mother and wife.
A Funeral Service will be held at Crossfield Baptist Church, located at
285176 AB-2, Crossfield, AB, on Tuesday, July 16th at 1:00 pm.
Let the words
of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O
Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

I have such fond memories of spending time with Kathy when we were young children living in Corner Brook, and then as teenagers in Bishop’s Falls.
Kathy was a very warm, kind-hearted person who always made you feel comfortable and welcomed when around her. She truly had a heart of gold. She cared deeply for those close to her, especially Dwayne, the one and only true love of her life. I fondly remember having the privilege of the two love birds staying at our home near Montreal as they were travelling from Newfoundland to begin a new life in Alberta. In the morning, as we were preparing breakfast, Kathy asked if we would kindly omit black pepper from the scrambled eggs, because her “lovey” didn’t like pepper with eggs. Kathy always had Dwayne’s interests at heart, thoroughly adored and praised his musical talents, and loved him immensely. They truly shared a love that was special and it was clearly evident to those who spent any time around them.
Unfortunately, over the years, Kathy and I lost touch as distance prevented us from spending any time together.
However, we recently reconnected through messenger and Kathy shared with me that her love for the Lord had been rekindled and she and her family had started reading the Bible together. With tremendous pride and joy, she also lovingly boasted how her daughter Karis had grown into a wonderful young lady and it became apparent to me that the immense love she so freely gave to Dwayne, she also showered on her only child.
Kathy will forever be loved and remembered for the kind, special soul she was. It’s terribly hard to say goodbye, but I’m so very thankful for the blessed hope of eternal life where one day we will joyously meet again in the sweet presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
I love you my dear cousin…. Until we meet again,

"Do not weep for me for I have not gone. I am the memory that dwells in the heart of those that knew me. I am the shadow that dances on the edge of your vision. I am the wild goose that flies south at Autumns call and I shall return at Summer rising."
