In Memory
Katherine Stapleton

It is with great sadness that we share Kathi Stapleton passed away on December 13, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1949, in Lethbridge, Alberta, as the oldest of seven daughters.
In 1968, she married and welcomed her first daughter, Tracy. Kathi graduated from Nursing School in Edmonton in 1969, followed by the birth of her second daughter Tara, in 1971.
In 1974, she made the move to Grande Cache, AB, where she continued her nursing career, eventually becoming a Public Health Nurse - a job she truly loved.
Her family grew in 2001 when Kathi became a proud grandmother to her grandson, Safo.
Despite the fact that she was the smallest of us all, and had the shortest arms (cue the Trex jokes!), she enveloped everyone. Kathi had a knack for making people feel special. Showering her family, nieces and nephews, friends and strangers alike with warmth and curiosity. Everyone thought they were her favourite—because they were.
She delighted in a good antique or garage sale find, gardening, decorating, reading, renovating, quilting and gardening. She relished a good crossword puzzle and a lively game of Hand and Foot. She was also known for moving large pieces of furniture on her own (with her legs of course!), a testament to her strength and stubbornness.
She loved finding the magic. With a contagious laugh and her signature “snort,” Kathi spread joy to those around her. Her great sense of humor, enduring devotion to “The Far Side," and the love of a good prank, made her an unstoppable force of laughter and fun.
Her loss is felt profoundly.
