In Memory
Keith Bechervaise
August 9th, 1948 - June 1st, 2026
Born in Gaspe, QC
Passed in Airdrie, AB
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Keith Bechervaise announces his passing at the age of 77 on Monday, June 1, 2026. Keith passed away as a result of complications following a motor vehicle accident on May 10, 2026.
Keith will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife and the love of his life, Mona; and his cherished daughter, Tanya (Jason Venus). He was a deeply adored “Pappy” to Tristan and Noah, filling their lives with love, laughter, and treasured memories that will be held close forever.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Muriel Bechervaise; his brother, Murray (Louise) Bechervaise.
Keith is survived by his siblings, Gladys (late Norman) Mullin, Marjorie (Jean Pierre) Fournier, and Sandra (late Chester) Gaul.
He will be fondly remembered by his extended family, including his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sheila (David) Paul, Beverly (Sidney) Scott, Frank (Jennifer) Lalonde, Barbra (Eric) Brousseau, Jason Craig (Wendy) Lalonde, June (Peter) Leach, Marlene (Jim) Richards, and Roderick (Peggy) Gallon. He was predeceased by Yvonne (John) Pinter and Barbara (Ray) Lennox.
Keith will also be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially his beloved Gaspé hunting crew. A natural jokester, he brought joy to those around him with his playful pranks, whether pretending to point something out on your shirt just to “flick your nose,” or adjusting his glasses in his signature way to share his unspoken opinions.
He had a true passion for life and for the things he loved, country music, travel, NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and the Montreal Canadiens. Keith enjoyed fishing trips with friends and family, as well as hunting adventures in Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta. A traveler at heart, he explored more than 50 countries, with his most recent trip to Japan in February standing as one of many cherished adventures he shared with Mona.
Keith dedicated 35 years to a rewarding career as a field engineer with Siemens Milltronics, where he traveled extensively and embraced every opportunity to learn. He had a genuine love of gaining knowledge, whether through documentaries or “how-to” programs, and took great delight in sharing what he learned with others. Later in life, his love of driving led him to work with ArrKann Trailer & RV Centre, delivering trailers to families who shared his appreciation for the outdoors.
Keith’s smile and unmistakable, hearty laugh could fill any room. He was known for speaking his truth openly and honestly, a quality that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He also loved to cook, finding great joy in bringing people together. His table was often filled with delicious food, good drinks, and even better conversation.
Keith will be remembered with great love and countless cherished memories. To his family and friends, Keith was a force, someone whose presence would never go unnoticed, and truly larger than life. He was always happy, loved to tease and joke with people and had a warmth and presence that naturally drew others to him. He was kind, he was generous and he was loved.
In Keith’s memory, donations to the Airdrie Food Bank would be greatly appreciated by the family. https://www.airdriefoodbank.com/donatefunds

I had the pleasure of meeting Keith early in my career and he had a great impact., not only professionally but in my personal life as well. I learned a lot of life lessons spending time on the road with him and shared a lot of laughs. May he rest in peace and my deepest condolences to Mona, Tanya, and his extended family.
We send our deepest condolences to your whole family. We had so much fun driving with Keith. He was funny and full of life experiences. Rest in peace buddy!

My sincere condolences to the family.
Dear Mona and Family - I'm so sorry for your loss. Although I never met Keith, he sounded like an amazing man, who touched many lives. He will be truly missed by all. Sending hugs, love and prayers to you all.
Dear Mona, Tanya, and the boys, it is with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes, that I offer you my sympathies. My heart is broken from the loss of my uncle, friend, and hunting buddy. He was like our captain at the camp, a fantastic cook, bartender, and comedian. Mich and I send our love.
I had the privilege of living beside Keith and Mona for quite a few years in BC. I have so many fond memories of my time with them as my neighbours, but one that really stands out for me was how they both stepped in so quietly to help me out when I unexpectedly became single with three little kids. I remember my fairy godparents next-door mowing my lawn or helping me with the garden. That’s who Keith was, that strong, steady presence that just saw something that needed doing and took care of it out of the goodness of his heart. I miss them both daily as neighbours but had the privilege of following along on their life adventures when they moved to Alberta. Keith has left such a profound impact on the world with his beautiful family, and the friends he made along the way. He will be so sorely missed. Condolences to you, Mona, and to the rest of his family. Biggest of hugs from Mark, the kids and I.
You always knew where you stood with Keith because he always told you his opinion. He was a man that enjoyed life you could tell it in his laugh. The one memory that really sticks out and will never forget was his monogram for when they were living in BC. “Bring Cash”. We will never forget you memories last forever. Our deepest sympathies to Mona and family. 🫂🫂
Keith will be deeply missed. I spent lots of time with him here in Saskatchewan, traveling to customer sites and at trade shows. He always told it like is was! Nothing was more enjoyable than sitting down with Keith after a long day and sharing a few beers, telling good stories and joke's. My sympathies to Mona and Keith Family.
Working as a sales rep for Milltronics back in 95. Fortunate, to have Keith as my service guy. So Keith is back in Peterborough for training. I am in my office, in Edmonton, speaking with our Inside support guy Wayne Davidson. I mention to Wayne, that Keith is back in Peterborough. Wayne says “I haven’t seen him yet” then he pauses, “oh,….I just heard his laugh” as it echoed through the office. What a laugh he had! Heartfelt condolences to Mona & Family
Mona, sincere condolences on Keith’s passing. I met you through Marcy’s Yoga. We haven’t seen each other for a few years but I have very fond memories of us doing yoga together. Keep Keith’s memories alive in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. 🙏♥️🙏

Keith was a true gem. I have many fond memories of him cooking up magnificent feasts when Mona would host her girls weekends. He was always ready with an entertaining story and would never turn down a beer. He made my friend a very happy lady and I am so glad I knew him. Rest in peace Keith.

My Condolences to all the family and friends
I first met Keith as a legion member, and got to know him and Mona with visits to Water Valley through our friendship with Ken & Carol Ionel. I am thrilled that I own a beautiful wooden bowl that he made and I keep my coffee pods in. Rest easy dear Keith. My heart is with Mona and your family.
Keith – The Man, The Myth, The Legend
I knew him simply as Pappi, and I was his Wilson (aka Too time) which was far from the truth because I couldn’t see over the fence.
When my family moved in next door to Keith and Mona, I remember thinking, "Oh boy, we just moved beside the guy from Grumpy Old Men." Keith wasn't exactly the warm-and-fuzzy type when you first met him. He told it like it was and didn't put up with much nonsense. But Mona was like the fairy godmother you see on Disney she kept Keith in line.
But I was determined to make him my friend.
It didn't take long before we found common ground—BBQ. Soon, passing meat over the fence became our thing. Some of the best conversations happened there, talking about life, hockey, family, or whatever else came to mind.
I'll never forget stepping outside on a sunny day and seeing Pappi standing there shirtless, soaking up the sun. That shiny forehead catching the light made me laugh every time. It was just Pappi being Pappi.
Hockey season was another story. We spent years arguing about whose team was better and never missed a chance to remind the other after a loss. I don't remember who won those debates, but I remember laughing through all of them.
If I ever needed a tool, there was no point driving to Canadian Tire. I just went to Pappi Tire. Whatever I needed, he had it—or knew where to find it.
One of the things I admired most about Keith was how much he loved his family. He was an incredible grandfather, and his grandkids adored him. My son Masen thought the world of him too. Keith and Mona gave Masen his first real job, and he took it so seriously that he'd come home asking if I'd checked the lights or flushed the toilet properly because he didn't want to let Keith down. That's the kind of respect Keith earned.
We were lucky enough to live beside Keith and Mona for five years—years filled with friendship, laughter, favors, hockey debates, and memories I'll never forget.
Eventually we moved away, and life got busy. We didn't see each other as often, but every visit felt like no time had passed. Even when we weren't together, I often thought about Keith and Mona and how fortunate we were to have neighbors who became friends.
The truth is, Keith was taken from us far too soon.
I thought there would be more BBQs, more hockey arguments, more visits over the fence. I wasn't ready for those moments to end.
Keith, thank you for being such a great friend, neighbor, grandfather, mentor, and one-of-a-kind human being. Thank you for the laughs, stories, tools, advice, and memories.
You left a mark on a lot of people, including me and my family.
You will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
Until we meet again, Pappi.
Sorry to hear of Keith’s passing. We sure had a lot of good times together at RRR. Prayers to Mona and family

Mona and extended family, I am heartbroken for all of you, but Mona, I truly know how hard his passing is for you. I'm glad I met Keith and you, and I'm happy you have the best memories. Sending my deepest condolences to a fellow Canuck. I met Keith and Mona at RR in Florida many years ago. Had some fun times back then. Rest easy.
Keith had an infectious laugh and very quick wit. Shirley will remember him in the Ramblers’s wood shop where he spent many hours turning bowls and many other fabulous wood pieces.
Mona, I'm so sorry for your loss. Although I only met Keith the one time at Bev and Sid's, he was welcoming and fun. Certainly, very memorable. Love and prayers to you and all of Keith's family and friends. ❤🙏
