Keith Brown

Keith Brown passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the age of 70 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Brown; two children, Karla (Cory) Hancar and Brad (Jacqlyn) Brown; four grandchildren, Logan Hancar, Haylea Hancar, Atticus Brown and Rowan Brown; one brother, Ken Brown; two sisters, Anna Smibert and Colleen (John Dow); one sister-in-law, Kim (Dave) Mischke; numerous nieces and nephews and a lot of great friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kerry Brown and Jim Boode; one brother-in-law, Tom Smibert; his foster parents, Magnus and Blanche Boode; his in-laws, Bill and May Mischke and one brother-in-law, Jeff Mischke.

Keith was a kind man with a great smile who would help anybody with anything at anytime. His family was very important to him and he always put Peggy and his kids and grandchildren first. He loved his cat Zena and she loved him too. He enjoyed being a snowbird in Arizona for the last 3 years at the Pirates Den and riding his side by side in the desert with all the great friends Peggy and him met there.  He liked playing golf, watching Fox News and travelling with Peggy. They have gone on many road trips, some of which were to Europe, camping trips, the Caribbean many times and of course Mexico and some cruises. During his working years he was a plumber, gas fitter, and pipe fitter. He started his career at Rozcon Construction and ended up working at the Joffre gas plant eventually becoming a Superintendent for 20 plus years. Keith lived a full and happy life until CJD took him in a month from diagnosis. There is no treatment or cure for this rare disease so Keith bravely donated his brain to science so doctors and researchers can study and test his brain for future treatments.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6 or the CJD Research online at uabgive.ca/prions.

A celebration of life will be held in the Heartland Room Westerner Park, 4847A 19 Street, Red Deer, AB on May 31, 2024 at 2 PM.

Keith also loved his motorcycle, he had a V Star that we took on many trips. Riding on many trips with several friends, the one I remember most was a trip to Sandpoint Idaho on a May long weekend. We ran into hail on the way down and Snow on the way back. If that wasn’t bad enough, Keith found out how to take the muffler cores out and would gun his engine and make this awful racket just to piss the rest of us off.

Keith was a great male role model for my boys!!! With out even realizing it, he and dad(Bill Mischke) showed a couple of kids in a single parent home how to be a man.
For this I am eternally grateful.
He made a big impact on many lives, he will be missed so very much. He live a full and happy life, loved and was loved. RIP
