Kenneth Anthony Parsons

Kenneth Anthony Parsons, 86, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at Southwood Hospice.
Born on December 20, 1938 in Battersea, London, England, Ken was the son of Herbert John Guy Parsons and Edith Parsons (nee Jackson). Throughout his life, Ken was known for kindness, caring, humour, and curiosity, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Ken spent 5 years as an Apprentice at Thorn & Hoddle Limited Engineers in the Central Heating and Ventilating department and attended Wandsworth Technical College. Ken was then called for National Service Duty in May 1960 and served two years in the Army and subsequently three years in the Army Emergency Reserve where he was respected for his reliability and trustworthy characteristics.
Ken immigrated to Canada in 1965 and became a Canadian Citizen in 1972. Ken settled in Calgary to be near an older brother and worked for the City of Calgary for 33 years. He took advantage of the sporting activities available in the area and participated in both downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, badminton, and tennis and was involved in his community and the hockey school.
Following his retirement, over the years Ken launched into dozens of renovation projects around the house but especially spent time creating magic in the gardens and visiting his spiritual home, Home Depot. He loved creating music on his keyboard and playing Flight Sim with his fully customised controls and setup.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Parsons and two of his sons, Mike (Emily), and Chris. Ken will also be fondly remembered by many people including his grandchildren, Lachlan, Anya, and Wilder.
Ken was preceded in death by his son, Brad in 2021, his parents; his sister, Sybil Parsons; and his three brothers, Leslie, Alan, and Den.
A memorial will be held at a springtime date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the food bank.
Ken will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
