Kenneth John Jake Sonnenberg

April 15th, 1971 - May 14th, 2025
Kenneth John Jake Sonnenberg

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Kenneth Sonnenberg on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. His presence in our lives was nothing short of a blessing, and his loss is felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.

Kenny was the cherished partner of Teresa Baker; a devoted and proud father to Brayden Sonnenberg and Brooke Sonnenberg; and a beloved bonus dad to Karly Nathan, Kiara Nathan, and Kendra Vandermeulen. He was a treasured son of Fred and Sharon Sonnenberg; a loving brother to Craig Sonnenberg; a caring brother-in-law to Monica Hermanski, and a proud uncle to Brandon Sonnenberg and Miranda Gane. To his grandchild, he was affectionately known as “Grumpy”—a role he held with joy, pride, and unconditional love.

He had an extraordinary ability to bring light into the lives of those around him. His laughter was contagious, his energy uplifting, and his heart endlessly generous. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand, Kenny was always there—without hesitation and without condition.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his steadfast loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

Though we continue to navigate this painful loss, we are comforted by the love and support of so many. We extend our heartfelt thanks for every call, message, and expression of sympathy. Your kindness does not go unnoticed.

A Memorial Service to celebrate him will be held at Rollyview Hall, 49402 Range Rd 234, Rollyview, AB on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

We invite you to leave a message or memory here to help celebrate Kenny’s life and the profound impact he had on us all. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. If you have a photo you would like to share, please send it directly to the family.

Rest peacefully, Kenny. You are deeply missed and forever loved.
