Kenneth Wood

With gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Wood on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Bethany Sylvan Lake at the age of 91. He was born at the family farm in Carstairs, Alberta in the summer of 1934 Ken spent most of his adult life in Airdrie, Alberta where he built a life centered on family, hard work, community and friendship. Ken loved sports, as a participant and a fan. Hockey, baseball, golf, water-skiing and snow skiing were among his many passions. He was also an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast. His commitment to healthy living, exercise and nutrition were well known and admired by those who knew him. He worked hard throughout his life to provide a safe and stable home for his family, creating countless memories through family vacations and adventures, especially at the second home at Cocolalla Lake in Idaho where many happy moments were spent with family and friends. One of Ken’s greatest joys was dancing with his beloved wife Arlene. Together their dance moves often captivated onlookers with their skill and enthusiasm. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife, Arlene (nee Klein). He is lovingly remembered by his children, Deana (John), Rae-Ann (Don) and Reagan (Faith); his 8 grandchildren, Kezia (Max), Jared (Clara), Kendra (Anthony), James (Shayna), Mitchell (Steph), Paige (Dillon), Kenny (Brookelynn) and Jesse (Syd); his 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be announced on social media at a later date. Forever loved, always remembered and deeply missed.

Hi Regan and all family and friends my sincere condolences. I only met your dad a few times. He seemed to be a quiet man and very friendly. I’m sure he’ll be missed a lot.
