Lawrence "Larry" Kirkpatrick

Lawrence “Larry” Christian Kirkpatrick, born on August 22, 1946 in Watino, AB, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the age of 78 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Julie (Marion) of 57 years; his daughter, Judy; son, Wade (Donna Lloyd); grandchildren, Devon (Shea-Lynne Mackenzie), Jason and Shelby; along with his precious great-granddaughter, Addalynne Marie.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Nima Kirkpatrick; as well as his sisters, Pat Major and Karen Johnson.
Larry was an industrious man who spent several years working in the oil patch overseas as an offshore engineer in Singapore and Scotland. He also worked on Sable Island off the coast of Nova Scotia and multiple other foreign countries from 1974 to 1979. He lived in Ponoka, AB from 1979 to 1982 where he was in partnership with the Leland Hotel. In 1982 he and his family moved to Watino, AB where he farmed and ranched until 2004. From 2005 until 2015 he established “Larry’s Vacuum Services” and operated trucks in Fort St. John, BC and the surrounding areas. He and Julie lived in Fort St. John, BC from 2006 until relocating to Red Deer, AB in the fall of 2022.
Larry had a great passion for fishing and hunting. He was an excellent marksman and enjoyed his moose and elk steaks.
A special “thank you” to the nurses and doctors at the Red Deer Hospital as well as the caretakers at the Villa Marie for the wonderful care provided to our beloved Larry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and close friends where Larry will be laid to rest at the Marion farm in Dawson Creek, BC.
