Leo Flobert

Leo Flobert passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the age of 92. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Georgia; three children, Gordon (Sherry), Gloria, and Lorraine (Gordie); his grandchildren, Brydan (Bonnie), Shelia (Stig), Cecilia (Jan), William (Maggie Mae), and Donavan; and six grandchildren.

Leo was predeceased by his grandson, Brandon Meadors; step-grandson, Alex; his parents, Victor and Anona; his four siblings, Jules, James, Vernon, and Bonnie; four of his in-laws, Cecil, Bonnie, Mary Jane, and Jim.

Leo was born in Sudgen, Alberta. He worked in the farming industry all his life. He moved the family from Black Diamond to Airdrie in September 1973. He purchased his first home at Fletcher Village in Airdrie two years before he retired in 2017. He was proud of his family, you would hear him say on occasion, “I have a good woman.” He would introduce his kids and refer to Lorraine as “this is the baby.” It didn’t matter her age; she was the baby. He always had a smile when introducing us.

He loved playing card games with the grandchildren and teaching the great-grandchildren how to play. Leo also enjoyed listening to his favourite music, stomping his foot on the floor to Stompin’ Tom Conners, Wilf Cater, and watching the Johnny Cash and Lawrence Welk shows.

Leo wasn’t shy to talk to strangers; he enjoyed conversing with most people that were willing to put life on hold for a good conversation.

Leo’s little pranks and humour will never be forgotten by those who knew him.

On behalf of the family, we wish to express our gratitude for your many prayers, kindness, thoughts, and deeds. We would also like to thank Prairie Rose Cremation & Funeral Services for the care we received.
