In Memory
Leslie Allan Neumiller
It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the
passing of our father, Leslie Neumiller on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age
of 84. He was born on the family farm
east of Carstairs, February 22, 1940; Les was the third child of Henry and Ida
(Hauser) Neumiller. He is predeceased by his wife Rita (Fauchon) , and his two
sisters, Eileen (Allan) Schmick and Betty (Gordon) Marsh.
Leslie spent his early years on the farm, a place that shaped his
character and work ethic. He remained
there until he married the love of his life, Rita, on October 27, 1962. The couple initially resided on a property
Leslie purchased from Howard Pross, enduring one challenging winter before
moving their home back to the family farm. Their marriage was a testament to
their deep bond and unwavering commitment to each other.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Sharon Neumiller and Wes
Loro, Yvonne and Glenn Ferguson, Joyce
and Tim Gray, Jean and Glenn Dyck, and Hank and Deanna Neumiller. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren
and great-grandchildren, Brent, Amanda, and Malakai Neumiller; Mark, Lindsay,
Amy, Wyatt, Jase, and Cole Dyck; Greg,
Kayla, Isaiah and Elijah Dyck; Meghan Gray,
Matthew, Amanda, Allan, and Melissa Ferguson; Nicholas and Avery
Neumiller; and Brett and Wade De le Hay.
Dad helped to run the family farm
with his father Henry, until his passing.
He then continued to work it
together with his wife Rita. They worked
together to provide for their family.
When not working, they enjoyed taking part in community activities,
Sports days, Curling, Cabaret’s, and Family Dances. Many heads turned when they danced because
you could tell how very much they loved each other. And boy were they good at it.
Leslie’s life was marked by his
dedication to his family and his unwavering love and adoration for Rita. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit,
his strength, and his enduring love for those he held dear; as well as his
quirky sense of humor and his love of a good dad joke or pun.
A Celebration of Leslie’s Life
will be held at St Agnes Church, 302 Veterans Way, Carstairs, AB on Friday, July
12, 2024, at 2:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory
and share stories of his remarkable life.
Leslie’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved
him.
There will be a reception to
follow at the United Church.
