Lillian Mary (nee Cooper) Gamble

June 21st, 1931 - February 22nd, 2025
Lillian Mary (nee Cooper) Gamble

Lily Gamble passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of ninety three years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gwendolyn (John) of Sundre, Alberta, (Wilma) Ann (Wayne) from Jerusalem, Israel; Gordon (Barbara) of Markham, Ontario; Karen (Mike) from Calgary, Alberta; Daniel (Sandy) of Mississauga; and her thirteen grandchildren, Larry, Shauna, Sheri- Lynn, Jamie, Joel, Jonathan, Jesse, Katie, Michael, Brandon, Melissa, Taylor and Tori. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Noa, Shai, Naomi, Bohdin, Olivia, Logan, Everett, Miles, Daniel, Sophie, Ada, Ezra, Maya, Adam, David, Rafa, and Bina.

Two younger siblings have also survived Lillian, namely, Dennis Cooper (Marg) of Langley, B.C. and Douglas Cooper, of Chilliwack, B. C.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Lydia Cooper in 1980 and 1984; and by her dear husband, Rev. Walter B. Gamble, in 2019, also a resident of Mountainview Seniors Housing.

Friends and family of Lily all knew how devoted she was as a wife, mother, grandmother, and pastor’s wife — serving and caring, always busy. Cooking, sewing, making house and garden beautiful, and cracking jokes are just a few examples of how she loved well. Her career as a buyer for a fashion chain was a very gratifying season of her life. Though impaired during her last two decades, she still found ways to light up the atmosphere round her. The family is grateful to many who have particularly enriched Lily’s life in recent years. Firstly the kindness of the caregivers and medical staff at MVSH was deeply comforting and inspiring to the family. Others who have encouraged her and brightened her sunset years are Donna and Ken Serr, Rev. John Lucas, and thoughtful nieces, nephews and friends who visited her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Bergen Missionary Church at 1:30 PM with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM with interment to follow at the Bergen Cemetery. Livestream of the Service can be viewed following this link:  https://www.bergenchurch.ca/copy-of-watch
