July 19th, 1929 - February 25th, 2024
Lyle Shultz

Lyle was born in the “old” Didsbury Hospital and then lived on the Shultz family farm east of Didsbury for his full 94 years.

They milked cows in one of the first milking parlors in the area, grain farmed and raised beef cattle (including having a Pinzqauer herd). Lyle team roped for years and then filled his time by owning and flying a plane to enjoy his days.

Five Children were born; Adele, Peggy (Merle) Good, Phillip (Elaine) Shultz, Maxine (Duke) Moreau and Linda Couture.

Ten Grandchildren were born to call him Papa; Karla (Kevin) Pohl, Melissa (Jason) Bell, Kyle Couture (Chrissy Jochems), Dayna (Greg) Mensaghi, Jolene Shultz, Joel (Lydia) Couture, Dustin (Lana) Moreau, Gary (Rheanne) Shultz, Shea Couture (Lyndsy Wasko) and Annessa Good-Hassard (Brett) Hassard.

Eleven great-grandchildren have been born to call him Papa Great; Caleb, James, Evan, Luke, Asher, Reid, Emberly, Eli, Ethan, Ryker and Jack.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sister, wife Donna, grandson Ethan Moreau and numerous others.

Dear Peggy & Merle Good family : Your dad was one of the friendliest men I ever met in Water Valley, always a welcoming smile and a big hello, even if you were a pesky newcomer to the country! We're all gonna miss him! So sorry for your loss.

Lyle was an old fashioned gentleman. We always enjoyed when he stopped by while checking his cows in the pasture north of our place, so we could swap some stories. And those low level fly-bys were always welcome as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, and we will always remember him with a smile.

Our condolences to Maxine and all of Lyles' family. We have many memories of Lyle over the years and always enjoyed our visits with him and Don and Ken. Betty recalls many good times working with Donna. We hope you find comfort in each other through this sad time. God bless you all.

I came to this community and met Lyle a few special times, but cherished his stories and his pride of his family and neighbours. He was a gem an I am sorry for their family's loss.

Peggy, Merle, and family our sincere condolences to you all at this sad time. We had many good laughs with Lyle over the years. Lyle had a great sense of humor and loved to talk about his family all the time. His love and pride towards his family were often expressed in conversations with him. He will be greatly missed.
