In Memory
Marcella D. Hipwell

With great sadness the family of Marcy
Hipwell said goodbye to a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt this month
after a battle with cancer and heart issues. Marcy lived a full, rich life
spanning 85 years and spread across the country.
Marcy met the first love of her life,
Morley Scott when she lived in Ontario. Together, they travelled the country
bringing excitement and joy through Conklin Shows. They raised their daughter
Kim with the same independent spirit that Marcy exhibited her whole life. After
the death of Morley, Marcy moved to BC, and her retirement. Soon after,
she met the last love of her life, Dick Hipwell. They were married and lived in
Claresholm, AB. After a long health battle, Marcy lost Dick as well, but was
blessed to be a stepmother to Dick’s children, Stacey, Pattie, Margie,
Joanne, and Candice. Marcy also has a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Marcy grew to love the community of
Claresholm the way she loved everywhere she lived - with fullness. She
gave to charities, promoted local businesses, became a passionate member of
TOPS and was the bookkeeper for the Claresholm Senior Centre. Marcy was a
bright light for many over the years. She was generous of heart and always
willing to help friends, family and even strangers.
She is lovingly remembered by her
sisters, Helen, Sharon and Rhoda; and brother, Keith. She is pre-deceased by
her brother, Mel; and sisters, Roberta and Connie. Marcy had a special
relationship with all her family that was full of laughs, debates, hugs, and
love.
We say goodbye to Marcy, but her
spirit will live on in all those who she touched.
A remembrance Celebration of Marcy
and the richness of her life will be held in the spring of 2023 by her family
when the flowers that she loved are in bloom.
