In Memory
Margaret Mary 'Peggy' Ellison

Peggy Ellison passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the age of 96 years. She is lovingly remembered by her family, daughter, Stacy Pothier (Daniel); son, Lang Ellison (Judy) and grandsons, Eric Pothier (Laura Thomason) and Christian Pothier.
Peggy was the much loved wife of Neil Ellison, who predeceased her in 2018. Their 63 year long marriage was characterized by love and affection, serving as an inspiration to us all. She was also predeceased by her infant son Laird Stuart in 1964. She was the proud daughter of John Lang (1983) and Annie Stannard Lang (1959). Peggy was a great storyteller and filled her children and grandchildren with many tales of her childhood and the love of her parents on the farm in the County of Strathcona at the intersection of Hwy’s 14 and 21. Peggy attended Fultonvale School and later high school in Leduc and then finishing and graduating at Old Strathcona High School in Edmonton.
Peggy was a wonderful mom and her home was always a gathering place for family, many friends and the friends of her children. She cherished the time spent with all who came through her door. Peggy was known for her volunteerism, spending many hours delivering for Meals on Wheels both in Calgary and Airdrie. She was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi having belonged to several chapters in Calgary. She had a varied career, but her greatest contribution was to her family where her legacy is felt everyday. In her later years dementia impacted her life and she met the challenge with grace even when her memory failed her.
Peggy’s family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Chua and all the nursing and care staff at Age Care Skypointe Taradale West for the love and care they provided to her during the last six years of her life.
A private Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025 with inurnment to follow at Cooking Lake Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer Society www.alzheimer.ca would be appreciated.
