Margaret (Marzolena) Rygielska

February 4th, 1964 - October 11th, 2024
Margaret (Marzolena) Rygielska

Margaret (Marzolena) Rygielski, died peacefully just after midnight on October 11, 2024 at Agape Hospice in Calgary, Alberta after a sudden and short battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 60 years old.

Margaret was born in Poland on February 4, 1964. She moved to Canada in 1987 and lived in Chatham, Ontario for 36 years. Margaret worked at Navistar building transport trucks for 17 years, then worked as an early childhood educator for the rest of her career. Margaret retired in 2023 and moved across the country to Calgary, Alberta to be closer to her daughter. Margaret had never been happier and more at peace than she was in the last year of her life.

Margaret had a love for God, gardening, walking her dogs, music, cooking, and the mountains. Margaret was the sweetest, kindest, most likeable woman. She made friends everywhere she went. She was truly a shining light.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kate, and her dogs, Teddy, Nash and Cabela, who were her entire world. She is also remembered by family in Poland and many dear friends and co-workers. Margaret was predeceased by her mother and father. She was also predeceased by her chosen family, Eric Louzon, and her “once in a lifetime” dog, Mickey.

Margaret never wanted to be the centre of attention, so there will be no funeral service as per her request. Margaret has been cremated and her ashes will be spread in the mountains, her happy place.

Margaret was a one of a kind soul. There is truly no one like her. She is deeply loved and she will be deeply missed.
