In Memory
Margaret Wilson Sandilands

We said goodbye to our amazing mum, Margaret Wilson Sandilands, who passed away peacefully at home on the farm in Carstairs at 87.
Born in Falkirk, Scotland, she came to Canada with her sharp wit, strong will, and sense of fun fully intact — and lucky for us, they never faded. Mum was one of a kind: funny, feisty, full of love (and opinions!), and always up for a laugh. She was the proud mum of Jayne, Linda, Bill (with his wife Cindy), and Jimmy. She adored her grandkids — Sarah, William, Scott, Sade, Sierra, and Megan (with her husband Ryan) — and was the best great-grandma to Abby and Millie.
She also had a special spot in her heart for Tony Ritter, who was like a son to her — and probably got just as many cheeky remarks as the rest of us.
Whether she was working on the farm, telling hilarious stories in her Scottish accent, or making us all laugh with that twinkle in her eye, or her years working in the Yukon as "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" in a Jade Camp, Mum didn't take life too seriously. She made it feel brighter. She lived with grit, and heart, and with a sarcastic sense of humour - and we'll miss her always and forever.
Give someone you love a hug and have a wee dram in her honour — Mum would’ve wanted that.
