Marilyn Lenhart

The family of Marilyn Lenhart wishes to announce that our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on Saturday, 27 January 2024 at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Randa (KC) Stone, Lethbridge; Terry Lenhart (Nicole Trahan), Billings, MT; Mike (Bonnie) Lenhart, Buck Lake, AB; Corinne (Glendon) Dickinson, Warrnambool, Australia; daughter-in law, Crystal Lenhart, Sheridan, WY and chosen daughter Denise (Marlin) Pezderic, Claresholm, AB. Marilyn adored her many grandchildren Taylor (Tucker) Rucker, Alexa (Josh) Levair, Khale (Sarah) Lenhart, Jade (Cinnamon) Lenhart, Baley (Kali) Lenhart, Alessandre (Jacob Bates) Dickinson, Zane (Tuesday King) Dickinson, Layne (Ryan Lamb) Lenhart, Nicole (Claire Alexander) Heath, Larry (Brianna) Heath, Tyler (Leta) Pezderic, Shael (Kirby Fromm) Pezderic and Keenan (Amelia Wills) Pezderic. She was delighted to have numerous great grandchildren Gus Rucker; Lillian, Harper, Amby, Wells and Jens Lenhart; Berlin and Ayla Ljunggren; Duke, Ace and Indie Pezderic; and was looking forward to meeting the newest great granddaughter joining the family in the next few days. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Richard (Ed) and Miriam Anderson; her husband, Jack and her son, Jackie. Marilyn was born in Davidson Saskatchewan, raised in southern Saskatchewan and relocated to Calgary shortly after marrying Jack in 1959. They relocated to an acreage at Langdon in the early 70’s where she resided until after Jack’s passing in 1991. From Langdon, Marilyn lived in High River, Airdrie and Lethbridge from where she happily settled in Claresholm until her passing. Marilyn joined the workforce once her children were in school. She worked for a number of years in the Accounts Department at Woodwards Department store, followed by temporary positions for companies including Bennett Jones Law Firm, Shell and Pepsi. Once she relocated to Lethbridge, Marilyn retired and took up a volunteer position at the Lethbridge Sleep Clinic, which she enjoyed immensely. Throughout her life Marilyn found pleasure in multiple interests including leatherwork, knitting, ceramics, and craft. She was a voracious reader and was always up for the challenge of a difficult jigsaw puzzle. Marilyn loved to play card games; it was a family joke that she often would bend the rules to her advantage! Marilyn was also known to enjoy a flutter at the casino and at the bingo hall, where she always had more luck than most. Marilyn and Jack enjoyed many years travelling to rodeos with the family in the summer and to the ski slopes in the winter. They found immense pleasure in their vacations, from exploring the United States, including the northern States, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. Marilyn continued to travel later in life and made several trips to Australia, fulfilling one of her lifelong dreams of sailing on Sydney Harbour and cuddling a koala. Marilyn will especially be remembered for her love of people and her wonderful sense of humour. Wherever she went and whatever activity she participated in, she made friends and kept them laughing. She enjoyed keeping in contact with friends via social media and loved nothing more than spending an evening playing cards, taking in the theatre or listening to live music. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr Leishman and the staff at the Claresholm General Hospital for their compassionate care of Marilyn. We would especially like thank all the home care nurses and health care aides and the dedicated staff at Porcupine Hills Lodge for the warm and loving care she was shown daily. We are grateful to everyone who brought light into our Mom’s life with their friendship and love. A Celebration of Life in Marilyn’s honour will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation email hpatel@abdiabetes.com
