March 1st, 1945 - May 5th, 2024
Marion Gwendolyn (Durling) Wasylishyn

Marion Wasylishyn, devoted wife, loving mother and caring Nana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the age of 79 years. Marion will always be lovingly remembered by her faithful husband, Allen Wasylishyn; they shared just shy of 60 years of marriage. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 2 daughters, Crystal Froment (Ken), Janise Gilsig (Bill); and her 4 grandchildren, Korynn and Kaitlyn Froment, and Maxen and Marisa Gilsig. Marion also is survived by her siblings, Glenna Engel (Gordon), Norman Durling (Lynn), Leslie Durling, and Brenda Schmutz (Mike); as well as numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.

Marion was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Anna-Marie Durling (1998 & 2017); and her brother, Lloyd (1955).

Marion was raised in Edmonton where she met Allen while working as a car-hop at A&W. They married in 1965 and raised their family in Edmonton. They moved to Cochrane for a short while and finally settled in Airdrie to be closer to their grandchildren. Marion and Allen began retirement travelling in their RV where they eventually became snowbirds landing in Yuma, Arizona. While in Yuma, Marion spent countless hours crafting, sewing, quilting, painting and strolls with her walking groups. At home in Airdrie, she shared her love of gardening, baking and crafting with her family and enjoyed relaxing summers at Gleniffer Lake.

Thank you to the most caring staff at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary for caring for mom in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dulcina Hospice, 110 Evanspark Manor NW Calgary, Alberta T3P 0N4.
