Mary Wilks

Mary died peacefully and quietly in her sleep, on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at Bethany Harvest Hills in Calgary. Born in Florenceville, New Brunswick on February 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Dora and George Kilpatrick.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, David E. Wilks in 1993, and is lovingly remembered by her sons, David (Tammy Mercer) and Barry (Louise). She is also survived by her sister, Betty Campbell of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; sisters- in-law, Georgina Wilks and Joan Wilks; nieces, Mary Ann (Bill) Forsyth of Dartmouth, Kathryn Wilks & Deirdre Peet of Calgary Alberta, Jennifer, Cynthia and Kim; and nephews, Richard (Brenda Rogers) Campbell of Oakville, Ontario, and York (Corinne) Wilks of Cold Lake, Alberta.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her older sister, Gwen, in 1944.
Mary was a proud Canadian who highly valued her heritage and took great pride of her family's accomplishments. Her interests were knitting, pets, quilting, cooking, and reading.
Mary's early career highlight was working as a supervisor for Bell Telephone in Ontario, and in later years, provided professional administrative support to executives in the oil & gas industry in Calgary from which she retired in 1992.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff of Bethany Harvest Hills for their compassion and care over the past two years.
A private family burial will be held at a later date in Woodstock, New Brunswick. For those who wish to make a donation in Mary’s memory, they may do so at a charity of their choice.
