In Memory
Mervin Parcels

Mervin passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Red Deer Hospice. Mervin was a great friend, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Mervin held many jobs throughout his life from a horse jockey, powerline man, swamper for Heck’s trucking, a delivery driver for West Country Delivery, and the Old Goat grass mowing project where he made many friends. Mervin loved his dog Sky, getting movies at the library, which also including joking and teasing the staff and patrons alike. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting friends, tinkering in the garage, strawberry milk, and his cigarettes. Mervin never complained about anything, he lived life on his terms.
Special thanks to his neighbours and good friends Bob and Gloria, Allison, Gabriel and Jenna, Kim Roberts and her team, Amber and her palliative care team, West Country Homecare girls, The Rural Palliative Care grant, and the Caroline Ambulance for Emergency Health Services Palliative and End-of-Life Care Medical Control Protocols Program, who all made it possible for Mervin to remain at home as long as possible. Mervin greatly appreciated the care and help he received from everyone. Mervin is lovingly remembered by many friends.
As per Mervin’s wishes no service will be held.
