In Memory
Morgan Clugston

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Morgan Jay Clugston on April 25, 2026, at just 13 years old. Morgan will be forever loved and deeply missed by his mom, Melody; Papa, Rich; and his twin brother, Jack—his built-in best friend, partner in adventure, and constant companion. Their bond was something truly special, full of laughter, mischief, and love.
He will also be deeply missed by his Grandparents, Gramps Jim, Gran MaryAnne, and Gramma Cindy; his uncle’s; Russ (Erica), Alex (Kyla), and Shawn; his aunt, Emily; his cousins, Mackenzie, Zoe, Waylen, Ashton, and Ellis; who shared so many fun and memorable moments with him.
Morgan lived life with a kind of energy and joy that drew people in and stayed with them. He had a way of lighting up every room he entered—his smile was infectious, his spirit confident, and his presence made people feel seen, valued, and included. There was a warmth about him, a natural kindness that made everyone feel like they belonged. He loved hockey—especially cheering on the Edmonton Oilers—and it was one of the many ways his passion for life showed through. Whether he was watching a game, collecting jerseys, or heading out to play, you could see how much joy it brought him. Morgan didn’t just live life—he embraced it fully, and he shared that light with everyone around him.
Morgan loved being active and, on the move, exploring and adventuring Airdrie and Calgary’s many parks, skating, swimming, rollerblading, doing backflips, trying gymnastics, or just tossing a ball around. He found joy in the simple things: camping trips, beach days, travelling, and especially spending time with Jack and his cousins. Those were the moments he seemed to cherish most.
Music was another growing passion. He loved going to concerts and had recently started learning to play the drums, excited to find his own rhythm and style. Morgan will be remembered by his close friends and by the many classmates at Windsong Heights Elementary School who had the privilege of knowing him. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As a family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Alberta Children’s Hospital for their care and compassion, and to the teachers and staff at Windsong Heights for guiding and supporting Morgan over the years. You helped him grow into the incredible young person we are so proud of.
Morgan brought so much love, energy, and joy into our lives in his 13 years. He will be missed beyond words and loved forever.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your son. Although I did not get the privilege of teaching him, he always carried himself with such a presence that was unmatched. So positive. My only real interactions with him was when he felt the need to diss me about my Maple Leafs. All in good humour and such a character. I will miss that about him among many other things. My thoughts and prayers are with you durning this difficult time.
