Noemia Pereira

It is with deep love and gentle sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Noemia Da Conceição Borges Coelho Pereira, who left this world at around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Noemia was the heart of her family—a truly Amazing Mother, a Sweet and Loving Mother in law, and a Fantastic Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her life was defined by quiet strength, endless generosity, and a love that expected nothing in return yet gave everything.
As a mother, Noemia’s devotion knew no limits. She guided with wisdom, cared with patience, and loved with a depth that made everyone around her feel safe and cherished. Her daughter was her pride, her joy, and her greatest blessing.
To her son in law, Noemia was welcoming, gentle, and kind—offering love not as obligation, but as a gift given freely. Her ability to make others feel instantly accepted was one of her most beautiful qualities.
Nothing brought Noemia more happiness than her role as grandmother and great grandmother. Her smile lit up when surrounded by her grandson, and her love created memories that will live on through generations. Her presence was warm, her words comforting, and her laughter unforgettable.
Noemia’s legacy continues through her family, who carry her values, her stories, and her love forward. She is lovingly remembered by cherished family members in Canada, USA, Portugal, and Brazil all of whom will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Noemia remains with us in spirit—in every act of kindness, every shared story, and every moment of love.
With Endless Love and Gratitude,
Her devoted daughter, Amelia Maria Pereira-Wignaraja,
and loving son in law, Neel Patrick Wignaraja

Personally I have had beautiful memories knowing her as my brother’s MIL and a kind aunt. She welcomed me with open arms on both my trips to Santa Maria and also in Calgary. She will be deeply missed but I’m happy I got to spend time with her in Calgary before she went to long term care. Her memories will live forever 💜💜💜💐💐💐
