Pamela A. Lane

August 25th, 1961 - December 7th, 2024
Pamela A. Lane

Pamela Alicia Lane (Guilbault) was born August 25, 1961 to Henri and Maud Guilbault of Kelvington, SK. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 63, in Three Hills, AB.

After graduating from high school, Pam worked in northern Saskatchewan, Alberta and the Northwest Territories as a cook and camp attendant. She then drove a gravel truck, and after a few years of that decided to get her Class 1A license. She drove long haul across North America for several years. The last stages of her career were spent driving shuttle buses in Alberta and B.C., until her declining health forced her into early retirement.

Pam was an avid traveller, visiting parts of the U.K. and Europe several times. She and Mom visited friends and relatives in England on multiple occasions, and a trip to Ireland, where they visited Mom’s birthplace, was one of the last they took together. She also toured through most of the southern United States with her best friend, Cheryl Hanson. She had always dreamed of visiting the castles of Germany and Austria, and did that in 2012.

Pam loved nature and wildlife. The mountains and lakes of Alberta and B.C. were her favourite places to be. She also loved rock & roll and paralyzers, and good looking men (hunks) made her weak in the knees!

Pam never married, or had children, but always had at least one, and often two, dogs as companions. To her they were her children. She also treasured time with her nieces and nephews, and their children. Some of them remember riding in her van, with Joy Ride blaring through the speakers! She never missed an opportunity to treat them to unique experiences, sometimes to the dismay of their parents. That’s what made her the special auntie she wanted to be.

Pamela was predeceased by both her parents, and her best friend, Cheryl Hanson. Left to mourn her passing are her three sisters, Ann Lund (Dale Gregoire), Pat (Leo) Witowski, Susan (Cliff) Penner; brother, Ray Guilbault; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; a great-great niece and two great-great nephews; many cousins; aunts and uncles; and her beloved dog, Sarah.

Pam cherished her many friends, who will miss her frequent phone calls, quick wit and sense of humour.

A private family service will be held in the summer of 2025. If you would like to make a donation in her honour, please give to any dog rescue organization.

Rock on, Pam!
