In Memory
Pamela Tracey

It is with great sadness that the family of Pamela Anne Tracey (nee Sigsworth) announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and aunt.
Pam passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her mother, May; her father, Alfred; her loving husband of 62 years, John; son, Jeffrey; grandson, Cole; and sister, Joan (Tom).
Pam was born in Manchester, England to parents May and Alfred Sigsworth. She spent her first 12 years living in Leeds, England before moving to Nova Scotia, Canada with her parents in 1947. Pam quickly adapted to life in Nova Scotia and was a proud Canadian and Nova Scotian. Nova Scotia was always in her heart and a special place for her.
Pam spent many years as a schoolteacher after a short stint as a flight attendant. She was well respected by parents, peers and administrators. She had a special way of connecting with her students and it showed with the love they gave to her. She taught all elementary grade levels, but her favourite was kindergarten and that's where she spent most of her years teaching at Falmouth Elementary.
Pam enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching movies, dining out and drives along the coast of Nova Scotia and later in British Columbia. She loved the ocean!
She spent most of her retirement years in Hantsport, Nova Scotia but later moved to Courtenay, BC and Airdrie, AB to be close to her family. She delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of their activities in-between visits.
Pam was a continual learner and enjoyed keeping up with the latest news, latest inventions and mastering her phone, computer and iPad. Her mind was sharp and with her youthful looks often surprised many when they learned her age. She was vibrant and young at heart and had an amazing sense of humour.
She was a true animal lover which was evident with the many rescued kittens and cats she collected over the years. She also loved dogs and owned several at various stages of her life.
Pam is survived by her daughter, Janet (Derek); son, Micheal (Dorothy); daughter, Sandra (Doug); grandchildren, Kyle (Steph), Deanna, Tara, Tristan (Tessa), Jake, Bereket; and great-grandchildren, Kya, Lucy and Henry.
We'd like to extend a special thanks to the many health care professionals who cared for Pam and showed great compassion. You are all a blessing! Thank you to Dr. Ola and the Bridge Medical staff, Airdrie EMS, Calgary EMS, Didsbury Hospital nurses and doctors, Ellen Novack (Sheldon M. Chumir kidney clinic) and the doctors and nurses at Peter Lougheed Centre, with a special thanks to Katie, who went above and beyond.
Cremation has taken place. As requested, Pam and her husband, John, will have their ashes spread together by family members. They will have a private celebration of life at this time.
We feel very fortunate to have many happy and fond memories and stories to share of her. Farewell but not good-bye, our sweet mother.
Memorial donations can be made to any local animal shelter.
