Born in Calgary, AB
Passed in Airdrie, AB
Patricia "Patti" Norton

We are heartbroken to share that Patricia (Patti) Margaret Norton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 85.

She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Dean (Shelly); her precious granddaughter, Heather; her brother, Grant Young (JoAnne); sister, Kathie James; niece, Brandy James; nephew, Tyler James; brother-in-law, David Norton and lifelong dear friend, Deanna Weir; along with a lifetime of deeply cherished neighbors and friends.

Patti was born at the Calgary General Hospital and proudly resided in Airdrie her entire life. She loved her community deeply and dedicated much of her life to helping others, both as a dedicated "Domestic Engineer" and through her proud volunteer work with Youth Justice.

Patti’s home was a sanctuary; her door was always open, and the coffee was always on. As a dear friend beautifully noted, "Patti was our matriarch, and you could always count on sitting at her kitchen table in times of trouble and celebration." Her friendships ran deep, and she could always be depended on to lend a helping hand and lift spirits.

Her true happy place was Shuswap Lake, where she cherished spending her summers. Next to the lake, she poured her heart into her yard and gardens. Early summer was her absolute favourite time of year, filled with the joy of picking out her signature pink flowers.

Patti was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Marie Young; her brother, Robert; brother-in-law, Don Norton; niece, Christine Dreger; and her beloved husband of 64 years, Charlie (Chuck).

Please come to share your memories with us at a joint Celebration of Life to honour both Patti and Chuck on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Goldenrod Hall from 1:30 – 4:00 PM.

I got to know Patti when she would come to events at the Golden Rod Community Hall. She loved coming to Whist with Jim & Helen and anyone else she could get to come. Joy Kernaghan would bring Patti to Coffee & Cards, and she always played her special game, Sticks. When Patti entered the room, you were greeted with a beautiful smile & twinkling eyes, followed by a hug. I will miss you, my dear friend. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. RIP Patti.
