In Memory
Paul Blomquist

Paul Hurley Blomquist passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the age of 69.
Paul lived in Calgary and leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and beautifully crafted treasures. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jenny (Aaron); his son, Paul (Amanda); his beloved grandchildren, Lily, Liam, Rylee, Leif, and Beckett; his sister, Arlene; his brother, Ivan; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members who were fortunate enough to know him.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Paul had a gift for creating things with his hands and his heart. Whether he was building furniture, crafting wooden toys, or tackling a project, he took great pride in making something meaningful for the people he loved. Many of his creations will continue to be cherished for generations, serving as lasting reminders of his talent, generosity, and care.
Paul was also a master storyteller. He could turn an ordinary event into an unforgettable tale, often leaving everyone laughing before he reached the punchline. His quick wit, mischievous sense of humor, and ability to find joy in everyday moments made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. Time spent with Paul usually came with a good story, a hearty laugh, and the feeling that life shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Above all, Paul loved his family. He was proud of his children and absolutely delighted by his grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness. His love was evident not only in his words but in the countless things he built, fixed, created, and shared throughout his life.
While his family is heartbroken by his passing, they take comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on—in the stories that will continue to be told, the laughter he inspired, and the handmade treasures that carry a piece of him in every grain of wood.
Funeral arrangements are currently being finalized, and details will be shared with family and friends when available.
Paul will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and undoubtedly quoted for years to come.
